Xiamen International School

Xiamen International School, established in August 1997, is a not-for-profit, independent, co-educational day school that offers a high quality American and international curriculum in English for expatriate students Pre-K to Grade 12. XIS supports over four hundred and forty students from thirty-five countries. The current facility, opened in August 2002, includes over fifty classrooms, a gymnasium, library, science labs, and cafeteria, as well as a soccer field, running track, tennis courts, and an indoor swimming pool. The school is located in a suburb of Xiamen, a twenty-minute commute from the center of the city. Public transportation makes the school accessible from all areas of the city. XIS has an international staff of more than ten nationalities with over sixty percent having postgraduate degrees and certifications. The average number of years of teaching experience is more than 12.
