About company
The Hong Kong Mental Health Association was established in 1954 as a non-profit social service organization with the purpose of promoting mental health. Under the guidance of the corporate vision [Mental Health Sharing for All], we are committed to the mission of "providing high-quality rehabilitation services for service users", "building a positive workplace with the team" and "promoting mental health to the public".
The Association joined the World Mental Health Alliance as a member organization in 1965, and became a member organization of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and The Community Chest of Hong Kong in 1968 and 1969 respectively; in 1970, it was registered as a corporate body under the Companies Ordinance and under the Section 88 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance became a registered charity.
The Association has been providing direct service operations since 1967. So far, it has developed a comprehensive community rehabilitation service, including residential care, community support, day training, vocational rehabilitation and special education. It continues to take care of the mentally ill and mentally handicapped in a whole-person care model. And the different needs of people with disabilities.
The Association currently has more than 50 government-funded service units/projects, providing appropriate services to tens of thousands of service targets each year. In addition, the Association also operates self-financing supplementary homes for the recovering people, self-financed non-profit counseling and development centers; at the same time, it manages a special school that provides residential care for severely disabled students. More than 30 social enterprise projects are social enterprises, and a training college that provides supervision and training for mental rehabilitation units in the Mainland and the Greater Bay Area.
